The Swedish government rejected two appeals against Boliden AB’s mining concession for the Laver project in northern Sweden. This ruling upholds the permit originally granted in 2025. The decision secures the rights to extract copper, gold, silver, and molybdenum from the deposit.

The Laver project has the potential to double Sweden's copper production. It could also increase Europe's copper self-sufficiency by approximately 10%.

Boliden will now proceed with the environmental permit application process. A final investment decision and additional environmental permits remain required before the company can begin operations at the mine.
