Boliden AB reported a significant profitability increase for the second quarter of 2026. Operating profit, excluding process inventory revaluation, rose to SEK 2,872 million. This figure more than doubled from the SEK 1,281 million reported in the same period last year. Revenues increased to SEK 25,733 million. This represents a rise from SEK 22,285 million year-over-year.
Operational challenges impacted the quarterly performance. A seismic event at the Garpenberg mine significantly reduced earnings contributions. The Odda zinc smelter expansion in Norway faced a slower-than-anticipated ramp-up. Boliden also lowered its full-year milled volume forecast for the Tara mine.
Market reaction was mixed following the release. Shares fell 3% as adjusted operating profit missed analyst expectations. Investors weighed operational disruptions and higher costs against supportive commodity prices.
