Incoming CEO Brandon Craig announced a leadership reshuffle on Friday. Craig officially takes the helm on July 1. BHP Group is splitting the President Americas role into two positions: President North America and President South America.

Jessica Farrell, formerly VP of Innovation, becomes President of North America. Farrell will also temporarily oversee the South American region. Current Chief Operating Officer Edgar Basto transitions to the new role of Chief Enterprise Performance Officer.

These changes aim to strengthen operational discipline and support the company's growth agenda. BHP shares rose 0.8% on the Australian Securities Exchange following the announcement. The reshuffle follows a stock price decline linked to rising costs at the Jansen potash project.
