BHP Group reported a 30% rise in underlying attributable profit to $13.2 billion for the fiscal year ended June 30. This result exceeded analyst expectations.
High copper prices drove the performance, making copper the company's largest earnings source for the first time. The metal contributed over half of the underlying EBITDA.
Revenue for the year climbed 15% to $58.76 billion. BHP also achieved record iron ore production during the period.
The company announced a final dividend of 99 cents per share. This brings the full-year payout to $1.72 per share, the highest in four years.
