BigBear.ai (NYSE: BBAI) received national approval from the Dutch National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security for its Pangiam Threat Detection platform. This certification permits the use of the company’s AI-powered software for aviation security screening throughout the Netherlands. The milestone establishes a pathway for the technology to enter other regulated European markets.
The Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) conducted rigorous testing to grant the approval. The system analyzes 3D CT scans of cabin baggage in near real-time to identify prohibited items.
This initial certification was achieved using a SureScan Corporation CT scanner. BigBear.ai plans to conduct a series of subsequent tests with various other equipment manufacturers.
