Investment firm Long Lake has completed its all-cash acquisition of American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT), in a deal valued at approximately $6.3 billion. The transaction takes Amex GBT private. It was announced in May 2026 and received shareholder approval in August. Amex GBT’s stock has been delisted from the New York Stock Exchange.

American Express Company (AXP), Amex GBT’s largest single shareholder, is divesting its equity interest. Amex GBT operates as a separate entity. AXP expected to receive around $1.5 billion in proceeds and recognize a significant pre-tax gain from the sale.

The companies’ existing brand licensing and commercial agreements will remain unchanged.
