AEVEX Corp. secured a Department of Defense contract worth up to $92.2 million. The agreement spans a three-year performance period to support the Test Resource Management Centerβs SkyRange program. This initiative modernizes hypersonic flight test infrastructure by replacing ship-based data collection with high-altitude airborne platforms.
AEVEX will provide airborne range integration, engineering services, flight operations support, and communications architecture. The SkyRange program utilizes repurposed unmanned aircraft, such as former RQ-4 Global Hawks, to track hypersonic vehicles. These airborne platforms aim to increase the frequency and flexibility of defense testing.
AEVEX shares rose 3.5% in pre-market trading following the announcement. The contract reinforces the company's position within the defense technology sector.
