Astronics Corporation secured a favorable UK appellate court judgment in its patent dispute with Lufthansa Technik AG. The court dismissed Lufthansa Technik’s appeal and granted an appeal filed by Astronics.
This decision reverses a February 2025 trial court ruling regarding in-seat aircraft power supply systems. The previous ruling had ordered Astronics to pay approximately $11.9 million in patent infringement damages.
Lufthansa Technik must now provide a partial refund to Astronics for damages already paid. The court may also award Astronics additional compensation for attorney fees.
Both parties retain the option to request a further appeal to the UK Supreme Court. It remains uncertain whether the Supreme Court will agree to hear the case.
