Piper Sandler downgraded AST SpaceMobile from Overweight to Neutral. It cut its price target to $54.00 from $98.00, citing lower confidence in the company’s 2026–2027 satellite launch schedule and increased competition risk from SpaceX.
The firm pointed to SpaceX’s expanding ambitions in the direct-to-cell market, including a recent multi-billion-dollar spectrum purchase. Analysts said SpaceX could limit launch availability for partners such as AST SpaceMobile or offer lower prices, potentially affecting the company’s future revenue.
AST SpaceMobile shares have been highly volatile and declined significantly over the past week. Separately, law firm Levi & Korsinsky announced that a securities class action lawsuit had been filed against the company on behalf of investors.
