ASML generated zero revenue from chip equipment sales in Europe during the second quarter of 2026. Vice President Frank Heemskerk confirmed the results.

Heemskerk attributed the lack of sales to a regional decline in investment and factory construction. He stated that the trend is not a result of competition.

The company identifies this shift as a strategic concern. ASML requires collaboration with major customers like Samsung, Intel, and TSMC to develop future lithography machines.

While Europe possesses advanced chipmaking technology, it currently lacks the fabrication capacity to create a viable home market.
