Ares Management Corporation has acquired a significant minority stake in the operational portfolio of Statera Energy, a UK-based developer of energy storage and flexible generation. The portfolio comprises approximately 1.9GW of assets across the UK.
The investment was made by Ares Infrastructure Equity funds and marks the firm’s first infrastructure equity investment in Europe. Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal was described as one of the largest transactions of its kind in the European flexibility market.
Statera will continue to own and operate the portfolio. Ares will join as a long-term investment partner to support its next phase of growth. The investment reflects Ares’ focus on energy transition infrastructure.
