Aptiv PLC is expanding its collaboration with NVIDIA to develop affordable, production-ready automated driving systems. The companies will combine Aptiv’s automotive industrialization expertise with NVIDIA’s Hyperion and Halos safety platforms to create scalable solutions for automakers.
The collaboration aims to reduce the cost and complexity of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), barriers to wider adoption. It includes an air-cooled computing platform for NVIDIA’s Thor chipset, which Aptiv describes as an industry first and says could deliver significant savings for automakers.
The open architecture is designed to support AI capabilities ranging from hands-free driving systems to fully autonomous driving across vehicle segments.
