Anixa Biosciences said the first patient treated in the fifth and highest-dose cohort of its Phase 1 trial for recurrent ovarian cancer has had stable disease for three months. This is the first time a patient in the trial has achieved stable disease, meaning the cancer has not progressed since treatment with lira-cel.

Conducted at Moffitt Cancer Center, the early-stage trial is primarily designed to assess the treatment’s safety and tolerability. The therapy, liraltagene autoleucel, targets the follicle-stimulating hormone receptor (FSHR) on ovarian cancer cells. No dose-limiting toxicities have been observed across the trial’s five dosing cohorts.
