Seven global companies pledged a record $2 billion in investment in South Korea at the Invest Korea Summit 2026. It is the largest investment commitment ever secured at the annual event. Amkor Technology plans to use its investment to expand its advanced semiconductor packaging facility in Gwangju.
The investment aims to strengthen South Korea’s supply chains in semiconductors, AI, and advanced materials. A total of 97% is designated for areas outside the Seoul metropolitan region, supporting the government’s goal of promoting regional growth and creating innovation hubs across the country.
