AMD CEO Lisa Su said the company plans to substantially increase chip supply in 2027 to meet soaring demand driven by artificial intelligence. Supply has increased through 2026, she said, but demand continues to outpace it.
During a visit to Taiwan, Su emphasized the need for more advanced wafer capacity. She has met with supply chain partners, including chipmaker TSMC and assembler Foxconn, to help scale the full production line for CPUs and GPUs. AMD is extending its planning horizon to three to five years to prepare for this high-growth phase.
