Yangtze Memory Technologies Co (YMTC) plans to source up to 70% of equipment for its fourth factory from domestic suppliers. This represents a significant increase from its third factory, which sources just over 50% of its tools locally.

Construction for the new facility is scheduled to begin in 2027. The plant will produce advanced NAND chips as a direct response to U.S. export controls targeting China's semiconductor sector.

The shift favors Chinese manufacturers such as Naura Technology Group and Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment Inc. International suppliers face a potential reduction in business as YMTC reduces its reliance on foreign technology.
