Applied Materials announced a ₹3,600 crore ($430 million) investment over the next 10 years to establish a new facility in Karnataka, India. The project will be located within the Bengaluru Signature Business Park.
The facility will focus on research and development, semiconductor equipment manufacturing, and software development. This expansion is expected to create 1,000 new jobs.
Karnataka’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries, M B Patil, confirmed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The state government pledged full support for the project through all development stages.
This move strengthens Karnataka's semiconductor ecosystem and scales Applied Materials' 20-year presence in the country. The investment aligns with a broader strategy to increase global manufacturing capacity to meet rising demand.
