Applied Materials, KLA, and GlobalFoundries are expanding semiconductor research partnerships in Singapore. The government announced the initiative Friday at the Innovate Together 2026 forum organized by A*STAR.

Singapore has allocated S$800 million for semiconductor research through 2030. This investment supports the new SG Semiconductor national identity to bolster the local chip ecosystem.

Applied Materials and A*STAR will enhance their joint laboratory to focus on advanced packaging technologies. The collaboration aims to increase the visibility of Singapore’s research and manufacturing capabilities.
