Allianz is in discussions to acquire British roadside assistance firm AA for £5 billion ($6.77 billion). The German insurer is negotiating alongside other interested parties, including private equity firm EQT.

Allianz shares are currently trading near a 52-week high. The company reported record operating profits for the first half of 2026.

AA’s private equity owners are managing a dual-track process for the company. This strategy considers a private sale or a listing on the London Stock Exchange. Both Allianz and AA have declined to comment on the reports.
