AGNC Investment Corp. reported a net loss of $1.36 billion for the third quarter of 2026, compared with net income in the same period last year. Its comprehensive loss was $1.28 per share.
Tangible net book value fell 16.9% to $7.13 per share.
Interest income rose 32.4% year over year to $1.20 billion, partly reflecting a shift toward intermediate- and higher-coupon agency mortgage-backed securities. The company attributed its negative results primarily to mortgage asset underperformance amid rising interest rates and market volatility.
