Apple confirmed a connectivity flaw affecting a small number of iPhone 18 Pro Max devices on AT&T’s network. The issue can cause phones to lose cellular service. Apple released iOS 27.0.1 and a carrier settings update to help prevent the flaw from affecting more users. AT&T urged customers to install the updates immediately.

The updates will not restore service to phones that have already lost cellular connectivity. Apple says those devices need a complete hardware replacement. Affected phones may display SOS in the status bar. Apple and AT&T have directed customers to contact them for support and to arrange a replacement.
