Shares of KRAFTON, Inc. tumbled 6.2% to ₩243,000 on July 31 as traders cashed in gains from yesterday's explosive post-earnings rally, raising a pointed question: was the record Q2 simply priced in overnight, or does the selloff present a fresh entry point? KRAFTON's Blockbuster Quarter Nearly Doubled Revenue — So Why Are Investors Already Walking Away?

Shares of South Korea's KRAFTON fell 6.2% to ₩243,000 on July 31, erasing more than half the prior session's explosive +6.15% rally that had propelled the stock to ₩259,000 after the company delivered its strongest second quarter ever. The speed of the reversal puts a critical question in front of shareholders: is KRAFTON's record growth already fully priced in, or does the selloff undervalue a company that just nearly doubled its top line?

Revenue Almost Doubled, but the Quarter-on-Quarter Trend Tells a Different Story. KRAFTON reported Q2 revenue of ₩1.29 trillion (~$895 million) and operating profit of ₩410.9 billion, both all-time Q2 highs.

Revenue grew 94.9% and operating profit rose 67.0% year-over-year. Impressive — but dig deeper: compared with Q1 2026, revenue declined 5.9% and operating profit dropped 26.8%. That sequential slowdown likely fueled skeptics who view the Q2 blowout as a one-time launch spike rather than sustainable acceleration.

A Hit Game Powered the Numbers — and That's the Risk. The underwater-exploration sequel Subnautica 2, released into Early Access in May, surpassed 5 million copies sold within 22 days.

PC revenue hit ₩560.4 billion, up 155% year-over-year. But launch-window sales are inherently front-loaded. Investors are right to ask how much remains once the initial buying frenzy fades — especially with a quarterly net loss tied to acquisition-related expenses clouding the bottom line.

The PUBG Cash Engine Keeps Running — Quietly. The PUBG franchise delivered first-half revenue growth of 25% year-over-year — notable for a game that launched in 2017 and went free-to-play in 2022.

First-half operating profit reached 92% of full-year 2025's total. That recurring revenue base is what underpins KRAFTON's long-term case, even if headlines favor the newer title.

The Stock Is Still Cheap by Analyst Standards — If You Trust the Targets. The analyst consensus price target sits at roughly ₩368,000, about 52% above the current level.

All 21 covering analysts rate the stock a buy. Yet the shares trade 29% below their 52-week high of ₩344,000 , suggesting the market remains cautious about whether blockbuster quarters can become the norm. KRAFTON is also returning cash aggressively — ₩300 billion in treasury-share buybacks, ₩99.6 billion in capital-reduction dividends, and ₩336.2 billion in share cancellations in H1 alone.

Today's profit-taking is textbook after a sharp one-day spike. The real test is whether KRAFTON can prove the Q2 windfall was a beginning, not a peak.
