KB Securities says Samsung Electronics is trading at a crisis-level valuation, despite forecasts for sharply higher profits. Its forward price-to-earnings ratio has fallen to around 3x, a level comparable to the 2008 financial crisis. Foreign ownership has also dropped to its lowest point since that period.

KB expects demand for AI memory chips to drive strong earnings growth. The firm forecasts Samsung’s 2027 operating profit will reach 555 trillion won. That would represent a 51% increase.

Long-term supply agreements have secured 70–80% of Samsung’s planned memory production for 2027, KB says. The brokerage argues that the market is underestimating the company’s growth potential.
