Samsung Electronics expects to spend a record 84.4 trillion won on capital expenditures in 2026. That is approximately $63.2 billion. The planned spending represents a substantial increase from the previous year. The announcement coincided with record third-quarter earnings, fueled by surging demand for AI semiconductors.

Samsung will allocate 76.8 trillion won to its Device Solutions (DS) division. The funding will primarily support new fabrication plants and related infrastructure to expand production capacity for advanced chips used in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing (HPC). It also includes investment in the company’s Taylor, Texas, plant, which is set to produce advanced 2-nanometer chips.
