Solidigm, SK hynix's NAND flash subsidiary, is expanding its manufacturing footprint in Taiwan. The company will establish a new original design manufacturing (ODM) site for data center solid-state drives (SSDs). This expansion aims to meet surging demand for enterprise SSDs. Growth in artificial intelligence data centers drives this demand.
Solidigm expects to begin shipping products from the new facility by December 2026. The expansion aims to deepen cooperation with Taiwan's major AI server manufacturers. These manufacturers are key players in the global data center supply chain. Solidigm currently outsources some production to Taiwanese partners, including Powertech and Pegatron. The new site will supplement this existing capacity.
