SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won and executives from SK Hynix and SK Telecom met with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman in Seoul to discuss cooperation on AI infrastructure. The talks reportedly covered projects such as OpenAI’s Stargate, including AI memory supply and the joint development of a data center in South Korea.
The companies did not disclose specific details of the lunch meeting. It followed earlier agreements between them. SK Hynix has reportedly established a production system capable of supplying up to 900,000 High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) wafers per month for the partnership.
